Designed and printed a rear cupholder for the 991
My kids ride back there and often drink water out of sealed thermoses, which are too big for the paltry Porsche car seat cupholder. In the bottom of the bin between the seats, under the rubber mat and an easily removed plastic cover is a threaded stud and nut. I designed this to slip in the bin and use the nut to secure it. It's at a 4 degree angle to offset the slight lean of the bin.

I've been WAITING for something like this to come out since the day I got my car. I have two kids that ride in the back. If you decide to make any in black, I would be interested in purchasing it.

Thanks all for the kind words, I found this page that lists a bunch of third party services that can take the STL I uploaded on thingiverse to print this for you. I recommend doing something like ABS (I printed in PLA because it's what I had) for durability and heat resistance. My next step is to see if I can design an insert with 'fingers' that can bend to accommodate smaller cups. Also, if you have a GT3 this should work and honestly it is an easy reach from the front seats to add something that might be more secure than the front cupholders or just to add more capacity for bringing home takeout or whatever.

Here are a couple of places I have dealt with that do 3D printing, with or without a file: https://www.xometry.com/?utm_campaign=Quote%20Confirmation%20Automated%20Workflow&utm_medium=ema il&_hsmi=85048956&_hsenc=p2ANqtz-_hWVykKy7CjK7MxG2QTAEHQo2SpI7JBz7pnBva9BS3HDDBaS41_2LLa8c2KtBuQDgkbSWVbK KH5IyI0r43YZsnK_YLuQ&utm_content=85048956&utm_source=hs_automation

Nice. I won't need it - kids aren't allowed to drink nor eat in the 911 :-p but one thing you can do is spray or dip the print in acetone then sand it, prime it and spray it in satin black or dark gray. If you do it right, it will be durable even if printed of PLA, and good looking.

I've done acetone smoothing before, not worth the hassle for me. I printed it in red because my interior is red. If I'd do anything I'd just print it in ASA or ABS in a darker red. I offered advice to others in case they had choices to make that they wouldn't know because of lack of familiarity with 3D printing materials.
