Decades of personal experience, and also see post #14.

JB Weld will not hold.

A shocking number of people use jbweld incorrectly. Do it right (prep surfaces, mix proper ratios, use the correct version of jbweld, allow ample cure time) and it's practically as good as welding in many, many independent tests.

Update: I bought small 1/16 spring pin. Drill 1/16 holes into stud and body. Dip the end on pin into Red loctite and press it into stud. Did a dry fit into body, and it holds pretty good. Clean everything with Lacquer Thiner, and glued everything together with JB weld. Now I have to wait 24 hours to see the result. Keeping my fingers crossed

Not to be negative, but I have to ask.

You seem like a handy fellow. Why not just drill out the remains of the broken stud from the body. Use a tap to groove some threads into the hole and screw in a new stud using some JB Weld as a thread locker? That would yield a solid permanent repair.

Some UV glues are pretty strong.

Thanks to everybody for help. The pilot pin and JB weld works great. Everything is back together. I took the car for 50 miles drive, and no issue so far :-)

JB Weld seems to have a following of believers that it can fix anything.

Let us not forget our cars are held together by seam sealer and panel bond.

Seam sealer and panel bond are like JB Weld?
