SO, there was work to be done;

First, the windshield.
Called the Porsche dealer who referred me to Penske who own pretty much all of the premium dealers in one huge complex not too far away. A cedar helpful guy requested the VIN and said " yep, we have one OEM in stock. and we can come to your house tomorrow and install."

Very cool.

The Mercedes had sat for two years and needed:

Front struts
System battery
new tires ( flatspotted in the heat)
rear trunk struts
replace cracked trim around the seats

and a lot of other stuff. Close to $10k to do that lot.

The Jeep had recently had a new thermostat and some other with but now showed an engine light. Cracked fuel tank support needing new tank.

So the whole refurbishing was close to $5k.

At least all is now done and they are fine for use .

The fridge had also died and so had the microwave. Physically house was perfect.

Dropping off the Mercedes it was impressive to see how much Penske owned.........

dealerships for Rolls, Bentley, Aston, Ferrari., McLaren,Porsche, Mercedes, Audi,Range Rover, and more one after the other, with a private off road track behind and hundreds of cars.........

Time to go and the weather was closing in a bit. The quick initial 100 miles would bring us from 2,000ft to 7,000 and there was a bit of snow around.......roads were very icy heading into Flagstaff.......

Once we got onto 40 it had vicious winds that were so bad that we had to careful in gas stations in case the door got pushed forward and flattened against the body work. Stayed in the Big Texan and out early for St Louis. The wind continued but it was a nice dawn in Oklahoma........

I'm confused. @RDMcG why are all these posts bumping a thread from 2020? Do you need them moved somewhere?
