Default 991.2 Base vs 997.2 GTS as DD

Looking at a 997.2 GTS PD as a DD. Only have test driven a 997.1 base years ago, owned a 991.2 Base PDK.

Not able to see the 997.2 GTS currently due to outbreak, wondering for those that have owned both will the 997.2 GTS handle as well as the 991.2?

I realize without the turbo the 997.2 GTS will likely feel sluggish down low to me, but I am mainly concern with feel and handling. Is the suspension much improved in the 991.2?

I also recall much better steering feel in the 997.1 I drove, but have heard from others that there is not much steering feel difference now between a 997.2 and 991.2. Your comments would be apprec. and I realize subjective.

997 = analog and fun
991 = MUCH better daily and yes the suspension is that much more improved and compliant.

While I don't have a 991.2 I do have a 991.1 and have driven a few 997.2s... Im selling my 991.1 to go back to a 997.2 GTS or any 997 GT3, manual being the key. Refinement comes with some trade offs. It 1000000% depends on what exactly you're trying to achieve. For me, I want less refinement, less comfort and more rawness. Speed is lower on the list to the driving experience as a whole. Finding a manual GTS is proving more difficult than a GT3 I want to pay for so I will most likely end up in a GT3. Every generation you move up, the car itself should be more capable so clarify to yourself what aspect you mean in, "Feel and handling"... For instance, my 991.1 S did the ring in 7:37.90 and the 997.2 GT3 did 7:40.0...

I've had 4 997 variants: 05 Base, 06 S, 08 997TT and 08 C4S. I also drove a 997 GTS several times as one of my good friends had one. IMO the 991.2 does everything better. Your call, choose what you want like stated above. We all look at the world a bit differently. I also shopped the 991.1's and was planning on getting an S or GTS but chose the 991.2 base over both. I've had many 911 turbos and maybe that is just were my comfort and heart lies. The high revving NA motors are great on a track but not the best on the street IMO. Within 5 minutes of driving the 991.2 I knew it was best for me. I love RWD with the low-end torque.
