When the world goes crazy, Carmax will be an unlikely source of sanity
For many years I thought that most 911s at carmax were overpriced. Since COVID, however, carmax has had some of the best prices on 911s I have seen, especially 991s. They are pretty much the only place I have seen where the pricing model appears to be the same as it was a year ago. Here's hoping the rest of the market calms down over the winter.

Drifting
With the emissions scandal, you may get your wish. Either that, or the craziness that is 2020 will intensify and these cars will climb even more.

Seriously.... this will not impact prices UNLESS they have some sort of software/hardware update that cripples the car. Dieselgate hurt resale value because the "fix" ruined the performance and full economy of the VW diesels. Nobody buys a 911 to hypermile. The 3.0tt are LESS efficient when they are actually driven because boost is increasing the need for fuel. Year ago there was a competition with an M3 and a Prius to see who got the best MPG's when driven hard - plot twist - the M3 was more efficient at WOT

Because you'd be wrong. The entire point is that the M3 WASN'T driven hard, which is why it was more "economical". Anything being thrashed at WOT will consume more fuel than something that isn't. Your point is actually correct, but what you're referencing is off base.
But maybe you were talking about ANOTHER entirely serious, perfectly scientific "competition" between a Prius and an M3. I'd be interested to see that.
