One other thing to consider is the center lock wheels. They look cool, they may reduce weight, but they are otherwise a nuisance. I have them and have had 2 negative experiences. First, I had a flat about a month after purchasing the car. I had to get a flat bed tow as I could not remove the wheel and take it to a tire shop.

Second, I just replaced my OE tires at 11,000 miles (rears were low on tread). Mounting and balancing at the dealer was about $300. Not many third party places will deal with center locks (and fewer deal with them well), so not much alternative to paying high dealer prices for mounting and balancing. At least my dealer matched Tire Rack's price on the tires.

If you plan to swap wheels for the winter, doing it yourself will be more difficult than with a standard 5-bolt wheel and will require unique tools. Otherwise, it is off to the dealer twice a year.

Finally, the GTS has less sound insulation than other 991.2 models, so you will hear more tire noise on rough roads. I had my 4 GTS in Toronto for 9 months and the roads around the city were not too noisy, but some of the older highways can be loud.

All this aside, I love my 4 GTS.

Good luck.

.
Valid point but to be honest every new GTS should come with the proper breaker bar and torque wrench. Unfortunately they don’t and it’s the first purchase someone should make to go with the car. Even if you don’t own a floor jack and never plan to remove a wheel yourself, having the special tools and knowledge on how to use them is huge.

Not all GTS models come with CLs - I ordered mine with the 5 lugs and many other here have done the same. And the same goes for the mouse fur interiors...nothing but leather for me.

I have a 2017 GTS with the centerlocks. Initially I was kind of bummed about them just due to the hassle. However I got the torque wrench and breaker bar and the frame pucks from amazon, a floor jack from Harbor freight. I switch out wheels and brakes for track weekends 4-5 times a year and I can do it in about 1.5 hours all the way around. It isn't a big deal once you are used to it. That said it is a fantastic car and have enjoyed every minute of it.

Any 991.2 GTS 4 owners with manual transmission? Would like to read about your experiences. I would guess a modded 991.2 GTS 4 7MT would be an awesome machine to drive.

On the 991.2, you only need one as the system only plumbs back into the passenger side turbocharger. We have finally released our Air Oil Separator product after extensive testing by alpha and beta testers to validate performance and a redesign to greatly simplify the installation process. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

Our customer flickroll had a rwd GTS with all the bolt-ons and a COBB Pro-tune. It made greater than Turbo S level power, but in a manual RWD configuration.

Hope so! Just got a 2019 4 GTS and loving it so far (CPO, added 1 more for 3 yrs).

First Porsche, so maintenance scares me.

The 911 is cheaper to run than my E63s.

Goes through tires quicker, at least for me.

Just keep up with maintenance, and enjoy!

Thx! Absolutely will do.

I figure I'll see how I like it during the 3-years of warranty and either extend it or trade then. Despite the best intentions, I rarely keep a car longer than that (somewhere around 70 cars in my lifetime).

This is, however, my first Porsche so we'll see.
:-)

I love the low down grunt of the 991.2 over my previous 991.1.

I've been driving turbo or supercharged cars for many years so I wasn't "torn" between NA and turbo.

I'll say that this being my first Porsche after many competitors over the years, that my 991.2 4 gts is by far the smoothest/least lag I've experienced. It was a no-brainer for me. I also wanted to avoid the first few years of engine change so I got a 2019 (last year).

This car isn't as strong as others I've had, but close enough given the overall driving experience. I now understand why the 911 is the ultimate sports car for most people--especially given the pleasure given as a daily driver.

You should drive both to formulate your own opinion. Acceleration and low end torque of the 991.2 is truly impressive. Either will be a great car.
