Default question about vacuum tubing on PSE upgrade to non-PSE 991.1S

Hi everyone. I have a non-PSE 991.1 S. I bought a used PSE muffler. I've read all of the install posts - I think I can do this "factory style" and do it right. But I do have one question... instead of running the vacuum tubing from the COV the way it is outlined in the Porsche retrofit bulletin, could I just extend the passenger side non-PSE muffler side tubing to the center point PSE muffler connection with one simple extension?

I guess what I am asking is - if I don't need my install to be "factory style" to feel good about the setup - but do need it to be functional - wouldn't it be easier to never have to get into the engine compartment and route the vacuum hose through the oval heat shield piece - wouldn't it be easier to simply cap one of the non-PSE vacuum lines and extend the other to where I need it to go on the PSE muffler?

Thanks for your help and advice.

What controls the vacuum line you are speaking of? If it’s not controlled, then the pse will be open all the time.

Yes you can definitely just extend that line.

The factory line is 4AN PTFE lined stainless hose. Goes for like $5 a foot, that Porsche charges like $80 a foot for.

Thank you. Agreed on the tubing - I think I'm going to use some silicon tubing from Summit Racing.

From what I understand, if I plug/clamp the native tubing from the non-PSE exhaust and don't connect any tubing to the PSE exhaust, it will be in "PSE on" mode at all times. Would there be any issues with this from the vacuum pressure perspective?

No issue if you run it with the vacuum plugged, I currently have my car running like that right now, PSE full time.

Any dealer sells them and this one seems to be lower than most (for the switch I priced) https://www.delawareporscheparts.com/
Make sure they take your VIN and provide the correct part number accounting for all the other options in your car.
