Default LED gear display no P,R,N, only 1 thru 7

2012 991 3.8 S LED gear display no P,R,N, only 1 thru 7. Is this common? Where to start the search? Cluster - shifter...?

I thought that LED display was only for manual shifting hence only 1-7 or blank if you pull both paddles at once.

that's normal, the LCD block shows the gear number.

You should have the PRND/M stack I believe above the gear display with a little red LED indicating where your shifter physically is.

Thank you for the info.

I do have the red led next to the PRND/M. I just assumed that it should show the whole picture.

It does.

The red LED shows where the shifter is (drive, for example) and the LCD shows which gear the transmission is currently in (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7).
