The 7 speed manual code ZF 7MT (PDK is 7DT), is also offered by ZF to other manufacturers. Perhaps a white paper or parts list can be had from an inside source at a small car manufacturer.

BTW, thanks for diving into this.
Thank you. I couldn’t find any parts through those links but the information is very helpful.

If anyone else has experienced this failure and is willing to be identified by VIN in the safety petition, please send me your VIN and a copy of any diagnostic.

I believe this information would be helpful to include regardless of whether Porsche paid to replace your transmission or not.

This is a huge exaggeration, btw. I think there are 2 or 3 on RL.

I apologize for the poor use of words. I’m aware of 5 with this exact issue - all 2013s with 40-60k miles manufactured months apart and sold in North America. I’m doing my best to document them all - the failure should never occur and the fact that the exact failure has occurred more than once in vehicles manufactured months apart shows there is a problem. It may be dormant in many. I wouldn’t be shocked if some have this failure and don’t know it because they haven’t driven at night and seen their reverse lights are out.

regardless, thank you for your expertise and the resources you provide. I’ve edited my original post to more accurately reflect that there are several reports.

Agree. Probably goes undiagnosed in some. Another tell-tale sign is the passenger mirror won't dip, right?? Maybe more noticeable, if owner has it properly setup.

That was my first sign - but i never guessed this was the issue and didn’t check reverse lights until reading through RL after I was unable to reprogram. I thought it was just due to battery drain.
