Default Am I missing something?

I am sure this is just my OCD getting the better of me, but when I was changing my oil last week I noticed a screw hole on the left side of the engine that seems to be vacant. Doesn't look like anything was in there or has any apparent function but just would like some confirmation from those more knowledgeable that it was meant to be empty. Thanks

wider FOV

Closer view- Hole just seems to be asking for a screw

I can't recall why that's there but it is normal and not supposed to have a bolt in it.
