FYI. The best mouse trap I have ever used has been the 5 gallon bucket of water and spinning can covered in peanut butter. No mess. No stink. No poison. No problem.

Has anybody tried any of the electronic deterrents to rats and mice? Do they work?

I avoid poison in the garage and house storage closet (just snap traps with peanut butter). But in the crawl space, I use poison bait blocks and pellets. After 4 years, I think I am winning, but I suspect the war will never end.

Oh I'm not disagreeing that the glue traps work. They work amazingly well. But again, after catching too many other things in them (and not wanting to use oil or soap to unstick a live snake), I'm sticking with traps (and lots of them).

We don't have rats, thankfully. And really not a huge mouse problem either, but I have trapped a handful this year.

My pilot buddy's yellow Carrera T came pre-chewed after being delivered at the PEC in Atlanta. After repair at the local dealer it is now known as "The Cheese".

well I found some droppings in the battery area but I found it in time to clean it and have workshop check everything and it’s all good. I plugged in the ultrasonic repellent just in case and drop few mothballs under the car, I think it makes it completely rodent proof.

I was unable to get a patent on my rodent repelling device for cars so I shelved the project for now. That being said ultrasonic and electronic repellents are 98% ineffective.

Rats outside only; thankfully. They will not take food out of the snap traps; period. Don't want poison because what if a rat drops it and my dog gets it. Tried peanut butter on a 2x4 block in a 5 gallon bucket and they didn't go for it. Glue traps are sad - had to dispatch a rat with a hammer after it struggled all night to get out. I want them dead but felt bad for the critter. So now i have to either torture them with glue traps or just let them have run of the yard. Neither is a good choice but in the end, they need to go. Any other ideas B Russ?

Interesting thread for Rennlist...
