Can’t speak for the OP’s pics, but, there are people/photographers that sit at certain parts of the dragon and take pics like this that you can purchase. Pretty good idea. Though they never take my pic as I go over or back to Knoxville while driving my work car, Ford Taurus. Lol

We drive the Dragon, Cherohola and Devil’s Triangle every year.

Near the Dam on the TN side of the Dragon.

Does it have to be a 911 pic?

The wife on her Bonneville, me on Ducati ST4S.
Took a weeks vacation on the bikes a few years ago. Great road!

Of all my bikes the ST4s is the one I still think about. Totaled it a long time ago in VA on a road with curves just like the Dragon. I messed up, still drive the Dragon at least once a year but live less than an hour away.

I just spent the weekend in the Smokies. Tail of the Dragon is a great experience, as others have said, there are some great roads around that are equally challenging and scenic. I would recommend the Devils Triangle for a challenging drive.

I picked up the trail in Tellico Plains and headed west on the Cherohala Skyway. We stayed the night in Franklin NC. and headed north to Gatlinburg I would also recommend staying away from Gatlinburg. That place was a **** Show. Wall to wall people, most not wearing masks. Complete gridlock. The Drive through Great Smokey Mountains National Park is a must, but again traffic was bumper to bumper. Lots of pick up trucks with Trump stickers that were having trouble staying on the road. Really sucked being stuck behind them. Most people on the drive, when they saw a sports car behind would pull over and let you pass. On our way out of Gatlinburg we ate lunch in small town, Townsend. I think it was Townsend. We had planned to drive to Knoxville to stay the night, but on our way out of town we saw sign for another pass. I think it was called Foothills Parkway. This was a happy accident. The road kept going up and up. Felt like we were in the clouds, great view, nice road, lots of lookout points. NO TRAFFIC! We ended our day in Knoxville and did the Devils Triangle the next day.
