Yeah, I wasn't trying to ding Pelican, love their assortment and prices, plus the info they provide to the community. Great place to shop for sure. Just a bit blown away at the fact I was able to get the same thing in a small town parts store for 1/3 the price. Plus it was a comprehensive kit with all the parts when I just thought I was getting a filter.

My local Advance Auto lists the Carquest filter w/ gaskets for $16. They also have filters by Purolator for $40, K&N for $16, Fram for $37 and Beck/Arnley for $19.49. It isn't clear that the last 2 brands come with all the gaskets and O ring, however.

They did and gave me the the Car Quest brand of filter. When I get home I decide to compare it to the Porsche OEM filters I bought from Pelican. They are EXACTLY the same filter. Same brand same everything, even says made in Austria on it. The Car Quest one even included the O-ring for the housing, plus the O-ring and crush washers for the drain plug. Those cost me an extra $11.25. So the OEM filter/rings/washers cost me $33.25. The EXACT same thing PLUS 5 qt jug of Mobil 1 was $36.03. I can't say unbelievable, more like typical.
Do you have the part# for the CarQuest filter? I just looked at the oil change specials and it said that no oil filter was found when Mobil 1 was selected. I did search for the just the filter though but there is no indication it will fit - is this it?

This is the filter for my 2016 GTS: Part # 84694. You may have to enter the year, make and model of your car first to see the filters.

Look for their Special Offers - oil change specials. Scroll down a little to find regular Mobil 1 (not the high mileage kind). Viscosity selection includes 0W-40 Mobil 1 oil and the above carquest filter for $33.99. https://shop.advanceautoparts.com/s/oil-change-bundle

Maybe the offer isn't available in FL

LOL. After paying the Ferrari tax for many years, the Porsche tax doesn't seem too bad.

That's just a reliable porsche 911, wait until you get to the ferrari and lamborghini parts list OMG. There's a reason why those exotics aren't driven much.

I was just about to type the same thing. Porsche is the most reasonable of all the exotic brands and since they rarely ever need much more then routine maintenance its hard to beat.

Mine is 2014 Carrera 4 and it says exact fit. Has the filter changed .1 to .2? I didn't think so. Must be their site. The one on FCPeuro is same.
