Default How critical is a DME report on a PDK 991

I am looking at a 991.1 C2S with about 18k miles. Its a private party sale being run through a dealer so the current owner can get a tax credit on his new car.

It revealed that the rear tires only has 4/32nds tread left and they are supposedly 4k miles old. I know that the current owner did 2 track days with the car. Hes a really experienced racing driver, owned something like 15 porsches, and has a dedicated Porsche race car, so Im not too worried about it.

The PPI didnt include anything about the DME. At this point, Im pretty fed up with the dealership. How worried do I need to be about getting a DME done? With the PDK is it going to be any issue at all? The car has a few more months of CPO on it.

I would say not as critical because PDK cannot over rev the car. But good to have to see how hard it's been driven - but not a disqualifying event for me.
Independents can pull that too...

Ive seen range 1 and range 2s on other PDKs. A mechanic told me that the range 2s come from accelerating downhill. The computer shifts a little too late because the car is accelerating faster than its used to, or something like that.

What Im more worried about is the amount of hard track time its seen. Im probably being paranoid, but its a lot of money.

Correct. I did know that PDK's can over-rev in certain situations, but the prior blanket statement caught me off guard.
If you've so included, this is a decent tutorial to watch.

Good luck with the purchase..

that was really good info. Thanks! So pretty much, I’m not going to worry about it. It’s a Porsche, it can take track days no problem. So I’ll just buy the car.
