Mine is actually wrapped since I found film that is a perfect match (have used in several place inside as well). It is fine with no bubbling, etc. and it really does not get that hot so you should fine having it painted, which I think looks really good and makes the exhaust tips stand out more. Here is another pic and as you can see I left a little black along the edge but if you painted the entire piece it would still look fine:

Freshly painted

Repainted to the oem Matt finish
What color did you use to match the OEM black?

Black Plasti dip was the best match and what I ended up using. Tried, flat black and semi gloss paint and didn’t look oem imo. This has the rubbery look and feel to it-just like oem.

nice paint job on the rear defuser. How was it prepped, how is it lasting and how much did you pay for it in So cal? I am also in S0.cal with a techart spoiler in blue.

Have to add my name to the list of folks who do not like the painted rear apron.

My opinion is that the unpainted apron provides a of visual contrast between the painted bumper and the unpainted matte black plastic of the apron, thereby making the paintwork appear more striking, especially if it is a bright color such as Racing Yellow or Miami Blue.

Anyone have any pictures of a 991.2 with the rear apron painted without PSE?
