Here is the translation

Some extra info and images of what exactly happened: Bugatti, Porsche, Mercedes and camper involved in extremely expensive crash on famous pass The Gotthard pass in Switzerland had to be temporarily closed on Wednesday due to probably one of the most expensive car accidents in times. According to the Swiss police, the damage amounted to 3.4 million euros when a Bugatti, a Porsche, a Mercedes and a camper collapsed. Police say the 1500 horsepower Bugatti Chiron wanted to overtake four cars at once. The front of the foursome was a camper that probably held up the rest of the traffic somewhat. The driver in front of him, driving a Porsche 911 convertible, had the exact same idea and started to overtake - with disastrous consequences. The exact state of affairs is reported in various ways in local media, but the three million euro Bugatti is said to have bumped into the Porsche, which in turn rammed a Mercedes-Benz C-Class. The Porsche and Mercedes then crashed into concrete blocks next to the road. The Chiron tapped the motorhome driving in front. A woman was injured in the accident and had to be taken to hospital. The famous Gotthard Pass was temporarily closed to traffic.

Bugatti tried to overtake 4 cars at once??
Bugatti ran into the back of the 911 (also trying to overtake) which in turn kicked off a chain of events.
So who's at fault here?

I will assume the Bugatti is at fault because it rear ended the Porsche.

According to the passenger in the Bugatti, they were passing the line of cars behind the RV, and the Porsche came out right in front of them, cutting them off and causing the collision. They supposedly had video of the event, which they turned over to the police, so I guess when that investigation is complete, we might get to see it

I would hate to see how much their insurance goes up after this high profile car accident

Switzerland has income-scaled traffic fines, don't they? If so, this is gonna get pricy.

dunno about Switzerland but in the states that puts the Bugatti squarely and absolutely at fault. The Porsche was in front and had the right of way, and the Bugatti attempted to pass in unsafe conditions. “Cutting off the guy behind you” doesn’t make any sense, legally.

when you’re passing, basically everything is your fault.

That is pretty ballsy/stupid to try a 4 car pass on a winding mountain road!

I occasionally will pass two cars at once but even that gets uncomfortable because by the time you pass the 2nd car you seem to be 40+ over the speed limit. Sometimes you just got to wait it out!

Fast expensive sports cars give people a false sense of security. Some people think they can get away with anything just because they own one.

Supposedly, and I have no firsthand knowledge of this, but the comments from the Bugatti passenger indicate, you're allowed to pass on Gotthard. Not sure I necessarily agree with the Bugatti being at fault. A legal passing zone basically serves as a passing lane. If I go around someone in the passing lane and someone comes into my lane, causing an accident, they're at fault. Again, we can only speculate and "assume" but the video evidence hopefully will come to us so we can see what happened.
