You should only use a lithium ion battery charger with a lithium ion battery. Could have a fire or damage if you don’t. CTEK makes a lithium ion-specific one.

Just ordered the MXS 5.0 for my 991.1S, Is it ok to connect both quick access leads directly to the battery or does the negative have to go to the remote post closer to driver side? Thank you!

I take it you are connecting the battery charging cable that came with the CTEK, the cable with the ring connectors. Ideally to the posts of the battery. No reason to connect it elsewhere.

Yes, thank you! For anyone about to do this please note the battery terminal post bolt nuts are not supposed to be removed completely just loosened. I cut the ctek rings and wrapped them around the post bolts after almost breaking the bolts trying to remove the nut to slide the ring over the bolt lol. All set though!
