sometimes it’s difficult to account for material expansion over time/temps and variation in fuel that might cause the tank to expand a bit more. Foam around gas tanks is pretty common. Cars a pretty complex and pretty difficult to account for 100% of things.

i mean they have putting engines in the worst location for over 50 years so my guess is they enjoy trying to engineer around poor engineering decisions. Lol

They denied me a new transmission, so, in a roundabout way, probably saved me a lot of money as I don't think I'd buy a new Porsche now

NHTSA fellas. Enough complaints and they might do something to help people out. Even the old hoopties didn’t have gas tanks flapping in the breeze.

I agree, this is the first time I hear gas tank flapping around. It should be stable for safety purpose.
