Default Squeaky PSE Valves

They squeak when they open and when they close. I pulled into the garage and turned off the PSE and heard a squeak. Of course, I played with it a few times, opening and closing them...are these the dreaded change over valves or is this something else entirely? do they require lubrication, beer, or something entirely else?

Beer is always the correct answer.

I can't see how any lubricant can have longevity on an exhaust system. Too hot.

Maybe a urea grease or something like that? I think they are good for 175 C / 350 F.

This video is for a 981 but I believe the PSE valves are similar for 991. Jump to 2:52 in the video to check (and lubricate) your valve actuators.

Good video link, GearFX.

So, what lubricant did you select RLN? I wouldn't mind doing this maintenance step proactively on my car. Thank you.

haven't had a chance to figure that out....called dealer and they confirmed that it is a lubrication issue

I just ordered off Amazon the WD-40 Specialist Spray Gel Lubricant. Good to 500 degrees. $8.74. I don't really think I need it, but, I don't mind doing it proactively. The vacuum valves are easy to see & locate right in the center (991.1) of the exhaust under the bumper.

Morning, RNL. Any update? I did mine about 2 weeks ago. I didn't note any difference, but, I also did NOT have any squeaky PSE valves. I only did it as preventative. The odor from the WD-40 Specialist Spray Gel Lubricant (very nice product, btw) overspray quickly burnt off, too, FYI

car was at the dealer for vario cam solenoids and it was returned just the other day. I played with it today and the squeaky valves seem to have stopped squeaking. perhaps the dealer lubricated them
