Default PDCC fault

Was driving today on the street in sport plus, took a sharp turn, no issues. Then about 20min later, took another turn going roughly 60mph on the highway, probably around 0.9gs and PDCC fault comes on for the first time. I pull over and cycle the ignition and it goes away. Now when I take any turns at normal speeds it pops back up, turns off when I cycle the ignition until I take another turn. It does this with every street turn.

any ideas what this could be?

I assume you have never had it serviced? If not get it done and it may turn up a real problem.

I’ve changed the spark plugs, airfilters, and done all the oil changes myself which is it as far as service goes, I bought it used with 40k miles and drove 20k.

when you say real problem what do you mean?

I meant that if you get it serviced they may find a problem while doing it. If you have a local Indy shop it will probably be less than at the dealer.

A 2012.5 should have the PDCC reservoir changed by now. Service goes by miles or time, whichever is earliest

update....so I drove the car to work, no error messages or anything, but then I noticed white smoke coming out of the engine when I parked it.

any thoughts as to what this is?
is it safe to drive home? Engine temp is fine according to the dash...
possibly hydraulic fluid from PDCC??

Default 6 year service

Calls for replacement of pdcc bottle. Probablymade out of corn flakes. If its smoking I would not drive.

Absolutely not unless you are willing to risk your car going on fire. As far as I know the fluid PDCC uses hydraulic mineral oil, and does have a flashpoint.

It looks like it is possible you have a PDCC fluid leak, and is leaking onto something hot. I doubt it is because you didn't change out that bottle with the filter.

Might be a good way to get a replacement...

Thank you
I could be completely wrong but doesn’t the PDCC system use Pentosin CHF 11S hydraulic fluid? Is that not water base this not flammable?
again I am simply googling things and I could be completely wrong

Same, just googling here, but sounds like it's flammable, "Flash point: >150 °C (>302 °F) (Estimate)"

I also have PDCC on my 2012.5, and when I bought it CPO last year, the selling dealership had not done the PDCC service (replace bottle). I ended up going back and forth with Porsche NA about what should and shouldn't be done before CPO'ing a car, and finally got them to do the PDCC service after the fact. I remember a user posting who had the service done, and IIRC the dealership had a hard time with the fitting to the bottle leaking and they had to replace the hydraulic line.

Please keep us updated, and be safe.

Keep us posted on what the repair is going to be.

And please don't drive it......

That was me they had to replace the hard line into the back of the pump. I guess it has a plastic coating on the line that mates up with a rubber seal on the back of the pump and when the pump was removed the coating was damaged so it was replaced to prevent any leaks.

So on closer inspection, the drivers side rear wheel appears to be covered in “oil”, under the car there’s definitely a leak of something similar to oil only on the left side, it’s all over the suspension components and drivers side exhaust. On the drivers exhaust it appears sticky like honey where it was really hot, on other components it’s like oil....is that the PDCC fluid?

IIRC the PDCC pump is on the front left hand (facing engine from behind) side, but you wouldn't be able to see it without removing bumper, wing etc

There is also a hydraulic line from that area that goes to the the sway bar endlink at that wheel. It is possible that line ruptured or something? If you pull the rear wheel off you might be able to get a look. I don't think mechanically it is a very complicated system, a belt driven pump, a fluid reservoir and some hydraulic lines to the endlinks.

I believe you need the dealership computer to calibrate the system.
