Default Dealer trade in value or FSBO

I am thinking about buying a 2019 Audi RS5 Sportback and letting go of my 2014 911 C2.I love my Porsche but I need more of a daily driver for work, winter driving in PNW and clients. The dealer is offering my $47,000 for trade on my Porsche which is equivalent to selling it for $50,000 private party due to the I only pay tax on the difference between the trade value and the new purchase price fir the Audi. I was thinking I could sale the Porsche for $55,000 pretty quickly FSBO. My car 911 has 24,800 miles and is still under factory CPO until July 14th. Here is the options it has and I attached the original build sheet. I am looking for some advice and opinions on value. How much money am I leaving on the table and does any one here have interest in buying it? I have also have Porsche change out the multi function steering wheel for the sport design steering wheel and the original multi function comes is included and clear bra.

BASE - 911 Carrera
0Q - White
176 - Sport Exhaust System
250 - Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK)
423 - 20" Carrera S Wheels
446 - Wheel center caps with colored Porsche Crest
603 - Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS)
640 - Sport Chrono Package
651 - Electric slide/tilt sunroof
658 - Power Steering Plus
844 - Multifunction steering wheel
AG - Standard Interior in Black
P06 - Power Sport Seats (14-way) with Memory Package
P3E - Premium Package Plus i.c.w. Power Sport Seats (14-way)
P3H - BOSE® Audio Package
XDA - Wheels Painted in Black
XXG - Clear Glass Taillights

I think ~50-52k is probably a reasonable number to move your car quickly. just ask yourself if selling it privately is worth the headache for the extra money. I would just try to talk to the dealer about getting your number up. If the dealer has an attached Porsche store, they can retail it any get you a little more.

2015 C2 - 33k miles listed at 46k, similar spec.

2014 C4 - 37k miles, listede at 58k, nicer spec, has some nice mods

2014 C2 - 41k miles, listed at 56k

I also would try and get another $1-2k out of the dealer. Maybe see if they will include Audi care on your RS5, some Weathertechs and add another $1k to the trade in on your C2.

$1-2k is a lot of money, but it is a lot more effort and risk when selling a car privately compared with handing it to a dealer.

I would trade the car as well. PP is such a hassle, especially given the tax credit. See if you can negotiate a slightly better trade in or a better price on the Audi. But honestly, I thought $47k was pretty dang fair for a dealer.

Funny, we just traded a car in for another over the weekend. I originally was looking at a GT4 and they offered us $28k for our SP Charger and made it sound like that was a great deal with the market, etc. We found a Hellcat at a Toyota dealer and their first offer for our Charger was $34k! What a huge difference!

GT4 dealer was in CA. Toyota dealer was here in WA state.

I did get them to throw in Audi care and I'm getting a pretty substantial discount on the RS5. The MSRP is 84k and I'm paying $69,750 with Audi care. Its a CPO car with 4,800 miles. I'm also getting a full set of winter tires and wheels for 2k that just came of when they took the car in . It was the sales managers car.

I say it sounds like a pretty good deal all the way around then. Especially given the extra set of tires, etc.
Pics of the Audi?

Went to trade my flawless 2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio with 18,600 miles (Picture attached) in towards a 2017 C4S Cab and the dealer offered me only $34k. Sold it private party 3 days later for $47k. Considered trading my 2018 4C Spider with 6,500 miles and they offered me $44k. One sold on Bring a Trailer 2 days later with the exact same mileage, equipment, condition, color for $69k. Some dealers are scum. I’d private party sell it. YMMV.

Had a RS5 sportback and did not enjoy. Traded it after a few weeks. Wonky car.

I think you are downgrading and will not be happy. Ask me how I know? I messed up trading in my Porsche a few times and I always come back. Why not just get a winter beater. Lease a 2020 RAM 1500 for peanuts. The RAM is a great vehicle, I just bought my 2018 off lease, again for peanuts.

It’s been my experience that FSBO on (almost) all Porsches is the more lucrative way to go. Dealers will generally give you wholesale value (or less) for your Porsche as a trade.
Porsches are pretty easy to sell on your own. But, it’s often a matter of convenience. Not everyone has the patience or the actual time to do a private party sale.
I’ve found the difference between trading or selling is usually several thousand bucks. Plus, I like selling my old Porsches, especially to someone who really appreciates the cars.

The last car I attempted to sell was a creampuff 1994 Defender 90 with 30k miles (lost the ability to drive a mt). This was about 5 years ago. Had to speak with dozens of *******. Had two “men” back out at the last minute. Sold it to a dealer for $5k less, but he bought the 60 corvette I wanted and I “traded” my defender (saving sales tax).

I’m sure he sold it for $15k more.

That's alot of extras, just get the deal done before some one else get's your deal and takes it. You're going to love the RS5. I have a S5 sportback and it's good enough for every day duties, if I waited another year, I definitely would've jumped on a RS5. Pull the trigger! lol

So six years in with a likely nearly paid off 911 that you love and you want to sell it for a daily? That is a great spec for a base, and you can't replace that. I'd say follow the advise of OCNY. You will come out ahead and keep your Porsche.

The Mopar leases are no-brainers. Leased a Jeep Grand Cherokee a while ago. The lease buyout is stupid cheap and it really is a great truck. I'd love a Ram if I needed one and the NYC garages wouldn't charge me an arm and leg for parking.

I have had very good experiences with private party sales. Of out well maintained cars. Clean the car up nicely. Take good photos. Have a good write up. Explain how it’s been maintained. Price appropriately. Ask if the interested party is taking it home if it checks out according to what you listed. But you might get some people,e thst jut want to drive your 911. This weekend would have been a good time to list the car and see how it goes. You are not obligated to show it of you do t want to. Good luck.
