Default Ok, another long term / higher milage 991.2 owners survey question..

Originally posted this on the 997 forums, but then realized the engine intake valve design changed for the 991.2, moving the direct ihjector away from the intake valve completely..

So I'm on this obsessive kick to understand how the Direct Injection change over (which began with the 997.2) has / is affecting the long term viability of the intake valve system on the 911s..

As some might know, other brands, especially Audi and BMW have been known to get massive amounts of carbon buildup (google GDI carbon build up) which in as few as 30,000 miles has caused the cars to lose major power and performance and need expensive decarbon treatments including such things as "Walnut blasting" ..

I called my shop Forman at the dealer and asked him about the 992 (and 991.2) and he said he's not seen it as a problem, but then he rarely sees cars with more than a 20,000 miles..

Someone also once told me that the way the 911 intake system works, and the quality of the PCV system is such that there is very little oil returned into the intake system relative to other cars.

Have any of you actually had this issue? or had the intake valves of your HIGH MILAGE 997.2's looked at?

Is anyone concerned about this that plans to hold their car for many many miles/years?
