The GTS on paper might seem like a compromise. Drive one for an extended period. I think you will agree that the suspension and exhaust are both excellent. If you like to repeatedly do 0-100 mph pulls in Mexico then don’t loose sight that the C4 GTS is a 2.9 sec car to 60. Really not too shabby.
Any Porsche 911 will give you plenty of performance, if this will be a non-track car, and you want a Cabriolet, then any Cabriolet will thrill if you find one with the right options.
The 991.2 Turbo S models I've driven are quieter than my 991.2 C4S and the 991.2 GTS; they feel "planted" as opposed to the "loose" GTS (which is want you want for corners).
Again, finding one with the right options, regardless of model, that's the one to get.
if it is meant as a weekender, i would think GTS has more than enough power to give you smiles all day long, like my C4GTS does to me.
For me Turbo and GTS comes down to looks. do i want a discreet and basic 911 Porsche lines of a GTS, or do I want protruding wings in the back and air dams on the side. I went for the GTS.
