Default Entry & Drive Not Opening the Trunk ?

Hello everyone,
I bought a 2013 C4S Cab a few weeks ago. It's my first Porsche and I love the car! This forum helped me to a ton throughout the buying process.

The car has Porsche Entry & Drive which works great overall. For some reason though, I can't open the trunk by waving my hand near the Porsche logo on the trunk. It did work a few times when a first got the car, but not anymore.

What am I doing wrong ?

Sorry, cannot help other than recommending that you check the fob battery. Otherwise, consider yourself blessed! I hate that feature since it always pops open when I am cleaning it...rather use the key button.

As recommended check your battery. If your vehicle has sat for awhile your frunk will require the remote to open.

However, that said, I must comment that at least my experience with the touchless frunk opening is frustratingly a hit and miss at times. I noticed this with the dealership when I picked up my car on delivery. During their demo, it took a few attempts to open the frunk.

Never had a problem with mine. Make sure you are waving you hand in the right area. For me, the sweet spot is below and to the left of the crest.

you can also see if it works by washing the car with the fob in your pocket...it's almost impossible to keep the frunk closed while rinsing the front of the car

Mine opens if I wave and slightly touch the area below the crest but on the bumper cover, not the lid itself.

I find it opens the most consistently when I hold my hand toward bottom left of the crest for 1-2 seconds. Or, it opens every time I forget and leave my key in my pocket while washing the car.

Ya bottom left of the badge should get it to work.

I'm sure people in the grocery store parking lot thought I had lost it before I found the sweet spot. I actually gave up thinking there was something wrong. How many times can you wave at the front of your car in a public area before you feel like an idiot? 🤣

Thanks Bob , I will change the key fob battery and see what happens. Since I bought the car as a CPO, I may go to the dealer.

Works inversely proportional to how badly you need it to open.

Always works for me but I brush my fingers on the frunk lid just below and to the left of the badge. I can’t get it to work without touching the car.

The sensor is under the bumper cover, not the hood.
