Glad to drop a little weight and a dated screen. Just use phone and BT earbuds for long drives. Popped out the door speakers too (surprisingly light!) which thankfully is a quick easy job. Wouldn't bother now knowing how little weight is saved.

I left an amplifier and speakers in place. Hence working parking sensors.

Did you remove the amplifier? If so, how much does it weigh? Thanks

I did not remove the amplifier, actually I did not realize there is a separate amplifier. Another project! I plan to weigh everything at some point. I will post it up.

You may have even two amps in case of Bose or Burmister equipped car 🤝🏻

Here is the head unit measured in gramms.

For those that have done this, is there any coding required to retain functionality of any of the vehicle menus accessed through PCM vs instrument cluster screen? 981 GT4 as a track-only car. Have a feeling full interior will be removed soon enough.

For 718 some coding was needed to prevent the car looking for a PCM unit. Therefore my base Cayman was coded by the main dealer as a Cayman T.
