BMC Air Filters
I highly doubt it's needed and also doubt the butt (placebo) dinos. It's because they have clean filters.
When blowing on an OEM filter from a couple inches away, you may expect some air blow back in your face - the filter literally passed 100% of the air through - pretty weird sensation.
There are also two of them with a crap ton of surface area.
OEM FTW.

Get the filter from FCP Euro. They give free lifetime replacement on all their parts, even consumables like oils and filters. That should help offset the high price over OEM filters. https://www.fcpeuro.com/page/returns-and-exchanges
I wish someone would just take the plunge and dyno before and after ONLY the BMC filter swap and settle this debate once and for all. Any time the filter is dynod its in conjunction with other components. Before and after pull should run $180. Ill donate $20 to the cause.
BMC are OEM on the higher end 911's. 991.1 Carrera's and 991.1/2 GT3/RS (except Touring) use the same airbox. GT3 Touring uses an even better airbox with dual cone BMC filters. Anyone know what airbox the 911R is running?
@getPorscheparts Do you guys have a price for the GT3 Touring airbox? I see you have the "regular" one for about $600. I have a strong suspicion it will be a (almost) bolt on affair for a 991.1 Carrera.

911R uses part # 991-110-022-02, $559.52
GT3 RS uses part # 991-110-022-92, $1802.66

The BMC filter is reusable. Buy it once with the charge kit and you are good to go for the life of the car. I doubt it’s worth the effort to dyno before after. If there really was a performance increase it would be documented by now and used in their advertising.
What do Turbo (S) models come with? Can’t compare a GT car to a Carrera with its 1200-1600 more rpms.

Had the rear bumper off installing a Soul system....so they were right there and BMCs went in. More intake sound if you can hear it over the exhaust. Butt dyno has no opinion.
