Default Flying Rock!!

Just noticed this! Cant tell if the radiator is leaking or has leaked. The car has been parked for 5 days. Can anyone tell if i should be Worried? Funny thing is, i was just looking at some of the aftermarket grille options for protection.

Sorry to see that. Please get the grilles. One of the easiest mods that gives a whole lot of protection, for the cost.

If there’s any concern, I would take it straight to the dealer for inspection.

The cores are behind the dented area and just by looking at your picture, it looks fine. Definitely recommend protective grills. A high speed pebble or a tiny rock would’ve done more damage. Thank your lucky stars it was a larger rock.

That’s your ac condenser. Check to see if it still blows cold air...if not then looks like it may be leaking.

As Polobai has pointed out, that is an air conditioner condenser, the engine radiator is located directly behind the condenser. Our 2012 911 has worn a couple of bashes (just like yours), in one the condensers and in our center radiator for the last 8 years.

thanks guys i feel a little better now. I will check the AC and report back. Definitely feel lucky that big rock didnt hit any body panels or the headlights. It would have been bad.

Dang! That's a big rock and hit. Hope no leaks.

Keep in mind, in most states, hitting a moving object (road debris) would be considered a comprehensive claim (not collision). FYI.....if it comes to that. GL.

Same thing happened to me when I had my 997. Two weeks later and no AC.

I put grills in my 991.1 a few months ago. Driving home on the highway yesterday I was following a logging truck that kept shedding chunks of tree. When I got home there was a good sized piece of wood that had been trapped by the grill and it had been stopped from going any further. The grills are well worth the money. That's one hell of a rock, by the way!
