Default new 991.2 owner

So i made a post yesterday in one of my old threads but somehow ended up in the 997 forum.. so starting over

i've been a bmw guy forever but decided a few months back to go to porsche. initially was going to keep my x5 and get a cayman, but after driving the base and the s i decided i did not want a 4 cylinder. so that left me with either the GT4 or the new GTS, but decided i wanted the rear seat for some flexibility. i will say it has been an experience getting to know all the options, but after almost buying a few cars i finally found the perfect car. just picked it up yesterday and drove it home 3 hours. details are:

2018 911
7spd manual
14 way seats
PDLS
premium plus package
sport chrono

the sport chrono option was the hard to find one; i really wanted the rev match. this one doesnt have the PSE, but i can always add it or go after market; the dealership has a motorsport division and they are strongly recommending soul performance. either way, it's been a huge change for me and still getting used to all the electronics and how low it is!

i had also read that when you press the small dial you can get overboost for a few seconds.. is that not available on the manual transmission? i cant seem to be able to press that dial; just rotate it

Very nice! I just picked up my first Porsche (a 991.2 C2 with PDK) 3 months ago, and I hope you get as much enjoyment out of your new P-car as I’m getting out of mine!

Congrats are your first Porsche! I recently picked up my first a couple of months ago as well (also a 2018 991.2 manual transmission). The over-boost button you are referring to is a PDK feature only.

congrats on the new 991 and enjoy

no the boost feature is only for pdk vehicles

for those of us with 7mt, we access the boost by putting the right foot down very fast and pulling the left one up really fast lol

And a manual! Congrats! As you do not have the PSE exhaust, check out the high flow cat from Vektor Performance.
https://rennlist.com/forums/991/1160...at-teaser.html

It should be a bit louder and make more power than the Soul offering for the non-PSE exhaust due to the larger outlet among other features. And of course, there are the Vektor headers too. Throw in a tune from APR or Cobb, and your car will be well past GTS power levels.

Congratulations! I just got my fist Porsche as well, and am really enjoying it. Mine is a 2019 Carrera T with a manual.

Very nice! I've been a BMW guy for a long time too. Last was the Z4 but as of Memorial Day now a happy owner of a 2017 Carrera S Cabriolet.
Lots of drivers with big smiles.

Congrats. You're going to love this car. Had a similar car in 2017. Trouble free and great. Enjoy it!

You get a ton of fun with manual, instead of overboost button! Congrats on the right choice of car and transmission!
Oh, and if you want that **** selector to remember your choice - we have memory module for it:
