Default RR Racing | Porsche Paddle Shift Retrofit

Porsche is widely known for offering one of the best dual clutch transmissions on the market today. One of the criticisms of the Porsche Multi-Function Steering Wheel is for enthusiasts, the OEM functionality of pushing both paddles forward to downshift and pulling to upshift is counter intuitive.

At RR Racing, we wanted to put our engineering talents towards improving the driving experience and offer an independent shifting upgrade for the Porsche PDK platform.

The RR Racing Paddle Shift Retrofit allows the driver to ergonomically shift up with a pull of the right-side paddle and shift down with a pull of the left-side paddle providing improvement both on the street and on the track.

Features include:
  • Billet Aluminum Anodized Paddles
  • Simple installation that requires splicing of two wires
  • Proudly engineered and manufactured here in the United States of America

It doesn't disable any button on the wheel. The shifter buttons are attached to the paddle, so pressing forward will no longer result in a shift. It will operate as a left and right paddle should.... pulling right upshifts, pulling left paddle downshifts.

Is this plug and play? Does it require reprogramming afterward?

No programming required, you do need to modify 2 wires related to the shift button controls

In your last picture it appears that the back covers are removed and not replaced leaving a somewhat exposed look in the rear. Is this how the final product looks? Can you provide a link to installation instructions?

Hi Mike, we do not have online instructions. We posted pictures from the back to show what it looks like with the back covers removed. You really have to try to notice it. Our thought was that it doesn’t detract from the form or function, so we do not have covers. Techart paddles do, but they are cheap plastic, and they cost about $800 I believe

Will this work with 987.2 Boxster (2012) US model? My steering wheel is identical to the one in the pictures above.

Are these easy enough to install or should I take it to a shop? How long will it take?

I think most of the ones we sold so far have been owner installed, but it depends on your skill/experience and if you enjoy doing these sort of projects. It’s not hard though. If you email us, we can send you instructions.

We have about 3 sets of our aluminum, paddle shift upgrades available right now. These are a great deal at $299.99. Below is a link to the website. Please let us know if you have any questions.

Here is a recent picture of them installed on a customer's car. He was very happy with them on his modified C2S and even added some color overlays.
