Unhappy Dash Trim question

Hey all. Searched through the forums and couldn't find exactly what I was looking for. So decided to have the windows tinted on my new to me 991.2. With some hesitation, I also had the windshield done because I have heard that it helps folks like me with night vision issue with a lot with glare at night, especially in wet conditions. Took it to a very highly regarded and well reviewed local shop here in MD. They do mostly high end cars. So I felt pretty confident in getting it done here. So anyway, my questions. I have attached some pics below regarding my concerns. I noticed on the dash that my VIN is now partially obscured by the edge of the trim. Is dashboard trim actually removed for a windshield tint? I figured the pillars would be. But I always thought removing dash trim was a huge ordeal and requires pulling basically the entire dash assembly apart. And quite frankly, I would hope this isn't done. Seems rather invasive just to tint. So I am perplexed how this happens? Then I looked at my doors and noticed they are now raised and looks exactly now like the previous 991.1 and 981 warping. I didn't think that was an issue with 991.2s. Am I wrong? Could a careless installer removing the door panel create that issue? Or did they just not resinstall it properly? I also noticed the rubber seal on the interior window triangle trim over the blind spot monitor has gaps now. Which makes me think poor re-installation is at least part of it. I assume that protects moisture from getting inside the door when opened in rain. And the car is just peppered with grit all over. Almost like someone power blew sand all over my car. I have seen this one other peoples photos when they had clear bras done. So wondering if something in a shop could do that. You can see it some in the pictures; especially on the windshield ones. It's like embedded. Like I might need a complete claying to remove it. All over the car and obviously something I would have noticed before. Especially all over the windshield. So it wasnt there when i dropped it off. So I guess I'm just looking for some thoughts on this. Especially the dash since that perplexes me. Does that piece overlapping the VIN tuck in somewhere? I just took delivery of the car a couple weeks back and had to give it a thorough look over after it came off the truck and had to verify the VIN. So those issues were definitely not there before I took it in for the tint. My main concern is my warranty. If I now have the window warping issue and possibly a dash trim issue continues to develop, would Porsche battle me because of the aftermarket work?

That's trim overlapping the VIN

gap in seal over triangle trim

gap in seal over other triangle trim

Ugh. So sorry about this. I can't imagine why any trim would have been removed to tint the windows, particularly the dash. The proper method is to place a long fabrics rope at then end of the dash to prevent water from dripping into that area. So, I cant imagine being able to do that AND remove the dash trim. Do you have any pictures of the car before the tint? Maybe you have the pics from when you originally purchased the car from Porsche?

The door plastic separation is a known issues and there are a few threads on that, one of them recent. You might be able to get that fixed under CPO; hopefully someone else on here can add some comments on their experience. If it can't be done under CPO, there is a specialist out of Tampa that can do a more permanent fix for it at only around $500.

Also, nice phone mount. Would have figured you were in McLean not in MD.

Agreed that neither the dash nor door trim had to be removed for tint. I would go back and ask the installer.

Thanks All. I appreciate the info. This was the first time I went with the windshield trim in addition to the others. So genuinely wasn't sure of the process for the windshield. But you affirmed what I was thinking. That removing or doing anything with the dash would seem rather extreme. They offered for me to bring it in so they can have a look and correct. They so far have sidestepped all my asks as to whether they removed any of the dash trim. But quite honestly, I don't know that I want them touching it again. I may just try one of the local indy Porsche specialists in the area and see what they say (and hopefully correct the dash issue). I fear if I take it to the dealer to look at, they'll ping me for the aftermarket work and note it and i might have issues getting warranty to cover something down the road. I'll likely have to wait on getting the doors repaired since I fear they may try to wiggle out of that one. And honestly, who could blame them if it was caused or started by a third party tinter.

Thanks all. Not sure what happened to my original reply, but it's gone. Appreciate the input. First time I had the windshield done when I got a car tinted. So honestly just didn't know the process. But assumed removing dash trim would be extreme. So you all verified that for me. Much appreciated. I don't think I want them touching the car again. So I'm just going to suck it up and have to pay one of the well regarded indy's around here to take a look. Or maybe the dealer. Just not sure what the implications would be of openly telling the dealer a third party messed up stuff. I'm sure they would make a note of it somewhere and it will come back to haunt me on a potential warranty claim for something different in the future.
