Default Ooooooh the smell of new rubber.

It's that time of year to put the Winter Continentals to bed and install some new summer rubber.

Now get out of my way. I'm ready for more miles of smiles.

Very cool!! I just put new sport cup 2's on myself plus sparks/coils/cam sensors - all dialed in!

What is that continental cover called? Would love to find some Michelin covers for my wheels just like that...

I have the stock Pirellis. a set of Michelins summer and Michelin winters. They aren't old, I am not looking to sell any of the wheels or tires, just find a cool 4 tire cover like the one in the above pic..

Can we talk about the Scirocco in the background? More photos/details please. Bonus points if it’s a 16V and still running.

Looks like PS4S. Great tires. Enjoy. Also agree that tire cover is pretty cool.

I've had the Scirocco 16v for 13.5 years and it runs great and it's actually my daily.

Here's a picture from a few years ago when it was actually shiny. Right now it's actually a nice shade of pink/chalky red.

That is fantastic! Looks to be in incredible shape! Not even the dreaded front strut rise. Very cool that it’s your daily.

I had an 89 GTI 16v and still miss it.

I've been getting around 15-18K out of a set of tires.

It's fun to keep an old car going and learn wrenching skills along the way. With the global Scirocco family it's pretty easy to find some of the parts that are no longer available.

The car is over all pretty stock but there is a nice set of coilovers to keep the tires on the road a great looking and sounding TT full exhaust including the Try-Y header making the 16v sing.
