Default Difficulty in changing the trim?

Just curious how easy/difficult it is to swap out the trim? I have the gloss black in my T, and was considering CF or aluminum. Is it difficult to remove without marring the vinyl bits around the trim?

Very easy so long as you aren't doing the doors. See this video some guy put up on YouTube recently. Use a trim removal tool and not a screw driver.

Changing out the trim is VERY easy. Just have a flat tool and go slow with it. I think it would take a complete novice to do the dash and console area in 15 minutes tops.

Cool, I always worry about scuffing things even when using a trim tool or putting a thin cloth around it.

The biggest issues are the center console and cup holder trim. In Jame's video, the cupholder piece looks very easy to take out when in fact is a PIA to do. Trick I found from searching the forums is to wedge the trim tool above and pull at the same time.

It's rather easy using those interior panel tools. Changed mine out from shiny silver to Carbon Fiber in 10 mins?? no broken tabs either (perfect when resell the OEM parts).

Yes, this is key. On the cupholder there should be a tab area on the top right and left side. Slide the slim trim tool in between both and pull and it should come out fairly easy. Just be patient.

The cup holder was the most difficult when I did mine. The OEM cup holder on my car was held by both sharp clips and tape. I just used a firm hand (best with the glove box door open and your hands just behind the trim) and yanked it free. I also did the PDK shifter and that requires some tenacity to twist the chrome locking ring 1/4 turn CCW before you can remove the old shift assembly. Lightly grease the new shifter with some plastic compatible teflon grease and it will make any future removal much easier.
