Esthetically they complete the look I wanted. Visually exciting and definitely Porsche quality. Do I think they add functionally to shifting gears? No.

JCR seems to have the best execution.

They are developing Version 2.0 for cars that have the steering wheel manettino. Great value at 575 British pounds. Looks like steering wheel needs to be removed. I’ll have to take the car for a spirited drive tomorrow and see if it seems like the should be longer. I doubt Porsche got it wrong but then again......

Are there shifter extenders for the earlier steering wheels where the shifter is pull (-) and push (+) on one paddle? I can't seem to find any, and guessing not if they were 3M taped, it would be hard to keep on if you are pushing against the tape also.

For extended shifter paddles, check out Autotechik's. Large enough for comfortable use but not hiding too much of gauges.

I think it's still too expensive for what it is though...

Vaporware, never materialized for non-GT cars unfortunately. On GT cars, yes it does work as intended allowing you to shift at different points of the steering wheel.

Yes, the steering wheel needs to be removed to replace the shift paddles.

The stuck on contraptions just look fugly and clearly an afterthought that have no place in any Porsche.

Do it right or leave it OEM. Doing it right is never cheap.

[QUOTE=garfunkle;17380801]I don't use m paddles much but the problem is that most people drive with their hands at 10&2 where the paddles cannot be reached. The paddles can only be reached when the hands are at 9&3; where nobody holds the wheel.

Yes, agree... on my 991.2 the very short OEM Porsche paddles force your hands to remain at 9/3 position which can be quite a pain/discomfort... also drive a Lambo Evo with long length shift paddles... very comfortable, hands can be almost anywhere on the steering wheel when shifting... made upgrading to aftermarket paddles for my Carrera a no brainer... paid $95, they look great... do obscure gas gauge so have to move my head a bit, but that’s a small downside...

The paddles are actually different on the GT cars? As per Robert Linton

I believe gold are the JCR and black are his own version

Has anyone noticed the the spring tension on the paddles is not great? On my car I can depress the paddles the paddles a little bit before it actually triggers the gear change. Do the GT cars have the same paddle mechanism or is it tighter?

I’m curious about this too. I wouldn’t mind a tighter spring action or a more tactile actuator feel. A slightly longer “throw” would be nice too, over the “click” on the non-GT 911’s.
