Great vid, thanks for posting! He's wrong about the tires, but I can't fault him (and agree) with everything else he puts out. Even if the steering wheel is on the wrong side.

The 991.1 Base is more T than the T.

I pity the fool that hasn't experienced one.

I do agree with this from a weight perspective.

Really great video with some good points. The T is a sweet drive. That said, many of the things he notes apply several times over to the NA Carreras. To me the GT3 seems more and more like my ideal car. I’m not sure I could afford it much less daily drive it...but to have that amazing motor, the 6 speed tranny, and the special suspension must be amazing!

Cheers,
NF

Eh. I think his complaints about the gearbox are a bit overdone - the T's box IMO feels a lot better than the 991.1 S, and not super disappointing compared to my GT4 (it's not quite as good as the old 6-spd, but not as deficient as he makes it sound). You would honestly think from listening to this video that it was horrid to use and that PDK is always the best option?

I do think he had to pick on some negatives and harp on them a bit so he didn't look like he was doing a complete 180 from his 1st review which seemed to claim the T was disappointing.

The 991.1 Base is more T than the T.

I pity the fool that hasn't experienced one.
That's the brilliance of it I guess, every generation gets "better" from a numbers perspective, but introduces something that p**ses off the purists so that the generation behind seems more desirable, keeping up the values for the old guard (which I guess is the point of this guy's video?). I take your 991.1 base and raise you a 997 base ... etc.

I do like the 7 spd-but to me the 6 speed in my previous gt4 felt a lot better (tighter, smoother) and had a firmer clutch pedal (may be a bad thing for some but I liked it). I may be too old school but am I the only one who doesn’t like all the electronic assists with the 7 spd? For example, if you let off the clutch slowly with no gas, the car will give it gas on it’s own so you don’t stall.

For sure! I guess one (auto stop-start intervenes to cover up my stall) compensates for the other (light clutch hard to adjust to at first)
That 6-pd is a real benchmark, best I've ever driven. That being said, I didn't have to change gear in the GT4 all that often because of the super tall gearing

I’m with you on the gearing...80+mph at the top of second was a bit too much for me on the street hence why I traded it for the 911t. I do miss the soundtrack, but otherwise really happy with my t!

Agreed 100%. My 981 gearbox was amazing.

With that said, I have never missed a shift in the 991 T.

I would love to turn off auto blip in sport or sport plus.

Same. My 2014 Cayman S has perfect gearing for the track and has a more tactile feel than any of the 7-spd 991 transmissions.

The 996 GT3 is probably the bargain if the market at this point for this kind of car.

Possible maybe, but no one has figured it out for the 991.2 yet. That button does not exist on 991.2 Carrera's.

In sport and sport plus, auto blip is on by default unless you shut down PSM.

The worst part is that it is not just auto blip on downshifts, it actually does some level of rev matching on upshifts in some situations.
