Default Porsche 991.1 Carrera w/ Soul Exhaust, IPD Plenum, BMC Filter, Cobb AP, BBI Protune

Attachment 1335528

Porsche 991.1 Carrera Base with Soul Exhaust, IPD Plenum, BMC Filter, Cobb AP with BBi Autosport PROTUNE
320 hp /251 ft. lbs ( +26 hp/ + 9% Gain)

We would like to present this Porsche 991.1 Carrera Base that came in for power and suspension upgrades.

To improve handling and appearance, we installed Eibach PRO-KIT Performance Springs which lowered -0.8 in in the front and -0.5 in rear. To optimize horsepower and torque gains, we installed our BBi Autosport Custom Tuned Power Package which includes: IPD Plenum, BMC Air Filters, Soul Performance Exhaust, and COBB Tuning AP. After the hard parts are installed, Jared Deputy our in-house engine builder and tuner worked his magic on the dyno to extract an additional 26 hp to make 320 hp / 251 ft. lbs. from 294 hp / 245 tq to the wheels on 91 octane fuel.

As a COBB Tuning Gold Certified Dealer and Authorized ProTuner, we offer off-the-shelf and custom remote and dynpo tunes for most Porsche applications. ➡️ Email sales@bbiautosport.com for more info or visit https://bit.ly/36nxJuj

BBi 991 Stage 2 Power Package with IPD Plenum, BMC Filter, and Cobb Accessport V3 ECU Upgrade

With thousands of units sold over the years with great success and rave reviews, the IPD Plenums continue to deliver the best bang for the buck in the Porsche performance market. IPD has been developing patented intake plenum upgrades for Porsche vehicles since 2004 - now covering more than 30 applications distributed worldwide - and continues to share the same facility and technical resources with BBi Autosport to deliver the most innovative Porsche engine upgrades.

IPD 991 DFI Carrera 3.4L Plenum

To improve airflow, we used the IPD 991 DFI Carrera 3.4L Plenum to replace the restrictive factory plastic unit. IPD Plenums are products of efficiency that improve intake air flow and increase air velocity. The revolutionary and patented design improves intake air flow by with a more efficient, precision casted aluminum design. The “Y” shape design and dimpled interior surface make air flow more laminar (less turbulent) improving power and torque higher in the RPM band. You’ll also notice a very slight increase in intake note as a result. Smoother more optimized intake air flow will improve the engine’s drivability. The more efficiently an engine breaths, the more efficiently it produces power. The factory intake will become even more detrimental to performance as you increase the power and torque outputs with other modifications – the IPD plenum upgrade removing the bottle neck in your system.

IPD 991 Plenum Features:
  • Increases horsepower, torque, and boost responsibly optimizing air flow efficiency
  • Utilizes diversion splitter and dimpled interior surface eliminate turbulence and increase air flow
  • High quality cast aluminum construction
  • Direct fit OEM replacement
  • Made in USA

Diversion Splitter and Dimpled Interior

The Plenum benefits from the internal dimpling effect that have been implemented on all Plenums . This internal dimpling controls boundary layer and maximize air flow. Just like a dimpled golf ball travels farther than a smooth golf ball. Controlled turbulent air creates less friction and "tumbles" over a given area more efficiently.

Porsche 991 GT3 BMC F1 Replacement Air Filters

To help the engine breathe a little easier, BMC F1 Replacement Air Filters is made of a washable cotton material that provides nearly 40% greater airflow than paper, enclosed in an alloy mesh screen which helps the filter keep its shape and protects against larger debris and dirt. The increased flow of air through the filter provides a steady stream of clean air to the engine, resulting in much more consistent and efficient power

Torco SR-5 GDL Fully Synthetic Engine Oil

We used the high performance Torco SR-5 GDL fully synthetic engine oil instead of the factory fill Mobil 1 for the best performance and protection.

Brembo Racing HTC64T High Temperature Brake Fluid

Wow - a lot of time and effort spent and I am sure a happy client!

I am thinking about the tune for my GTS and interested in the HP gains for mine as well. I don’t think I will add the plenum but will add those BMC filters as well.

nice work!

Thank you everyone for the responses! We do not have any recent 991.1 Carrera S ProTune results but it will sure make more power and have similar gain percentages.

Thanks for posting. More options/companies for customers to chose from are always welcomed.
If i may, you say +26 hp/ + 9% Gain. I'm a little confused. COBB alone claims >7%. Also Soul exhaust alone claims 20+hp. Here you have full exhaust, full intake and COBB/ProTune for only 26hp gain?
Am i misunderstanding a bit?

The total sum of the aftermarket parts in terms of power gains does not equal adding all the individual parts up. As you add more pieces on, the power gain increases taper off.
The combo of the COBB Accessport, ProTune, and well-built SOUL exhaust on even this base Carrera made great power. 26hp gains on the 3.4 NA motor is a good delta of power

Nice! Only thing left on that car is headers!

Any review on the difference in driving experience; post mods?

Thanks! Look again and you'll notice it has headers with high flow cats
Customer's first response after driving was the noise she makes and the new power! That coupled with the PDK tune makes this car a noticeable one.

Ah, it does

So the gains were post headers and not vs stock?

The gains you see are with hardparts installed. So the "baseline" pull is stock ECU mapping but all the parts installed on the car.
Being a base model Carrera with a smaller motor it baselines lower than an S or GTS. Wicked fun car especially with proper mods on it.
