Default Rain Sensor Tip

Hello everyone, I’m in the Seattle area and we have had rain virtually every single day in January.

One little trick I’ve found is that the rain sensor works better if I initially have it on the most sensitive setting when I switch the wipers to intermittent, then flick the little switch on the end of the stalk to least sensitive. Then adjust from there as needed.

If I don’t do it this way the rain sensor often is quite slow to react even at the ‘most sensitive’ setting.

Hope this helps some others!

Interesting tip. I'll have to try it next time I'm caught in the Seattle liquid sunshine. I've been in hibernation for months waiting on a non-rain day

Seems to be a very tricky technology to perfect the rain sensor...I’ve had so many cars of different brands I think Mercedes do it the best but certainly not perfect!

I'm always afraid I'm going to wear out that tiny switch on the end of the stalk, trying to find a sensitivity level that doesn't annoy me. The rain sensor works OK, in the sense that I don't know how I'd go about building a better one, but that's about all I can say for it.
