Default Large trucks with stock/ aftermarket headlights lights.. How do you cope?

I live in the South.. and although I am sure this issue exists in every part of our country, it is especially bad here
The issue at hand is large trucks, SUVs (especially those that have been raised up) with after market headlights

Its impossible to drive at night without running into these vehicles.. They blind you both when oncoming and following..

Just returned from a drive where a Ford raptor was following me for 5+ miles on a single lane road.. Even after adjusting my rear view mirro, my entire cabin was Lit up with his head lights..

Baffles my mind as to how it is legal..its an every day event around here.. even if I go out in the cayenne I am blinded by oncoming traffic on a regular basis

do You guys experience the same?

Doesn't your mirrors tint at night?

When tinted the mirrors do a great job keeping down any glare.

I typically place my car towards right edge of the lane, adjust my driver side mirror until it blinds the driver behind me. Typically backs them off

I usually do not have anyone in my mirrors for long enough to notice.

Aftermarket “light bars” are the latest rage that is killing me. I don’t care what you drive, they are too bright and illegal.

Non dimming mirrors and TX car on TX roads filled with TX trucks... So, feel your pain.

I actually like the old school flip on the rear view mirror, I'm a T guy, so if course I do...
But when even that doesn't work, I just pull over and let them by. Life is short and I have nothing to prove to the coal rollers.

You could get your windows tinted that should help.

Lots of people keep their high beams on too. Very irritating.

100%. They act nonchalantly like high beams are the default lights to use all the time. It's infuriating. For people with astigmatism, like me, it's particularly bad. The police should start cracking down on those people.

I leave my high beams on all the time in the Targa; however, I have auto high beams that turn off when they sense an oncoming light - all vehicles should have it.

Good idea to let them pass. You never know how aggressive the driver can get.

There's all sorts of crap that people do, there is a maximum height for trucks in most states, these lifted trucks are not legal, the diesel pick-up truck owners remove all emissions control and spew black smoke all over the place. There's a shop down the road from me were they specialize on these mods and they are always busy.

This all happens, at least in Florida, because enforcement is down (police budget constraints, lack of manpower and service call demands are some of the factors). No time for equipment violation enforcement.

They also did away with yearly inspections, so that opened the door for everyone to take off catalytic converters, particulate filters, oversize tires that are outside fenders a whole raft of stuff with zero accountability.

We create our own problems, nice to live in a free country, but there's responsibility that comes with that freedom, but apparently many don't care, just out to gratify themselves, consequences be damned.

As some said, let them go by and avoid any traffic confrontation, guns are everywhere.

Well, you don't watch LIVE PD. They pull a bunch of people over for "tag lights" and blue running lights. But your right, never for headlights which I also find infuriating. Even when I walk in my neighborhood here in CA, I have to wear sunglasses just to keep the glare down. And if those lights are that bright at a height of 6 ft or so, you can imagine how bad they are at driver height. Worst are always pickups and minivans.

My 991.2 has auto dimming and the rear window is dark tinted. In my older M635, I had rear facing super bright red fogs (brighter than brake lights) which backed off most of the tail gaters. Unfortunately, the 911 rear fogs are too dim to be effective.

You could try those night sunglasses...they have yellow lenses to help reduce glare. I've also just pulled over and waved the vehicle on to pass me. And not just for trucks...people who drive erratically and are not paying attention I'll wave to pass as well...last thing I want is to be rear-ended in the 911.
