Default Engine smells like it’s hot

Every time I drive car it has a smell from engine heat that smells as if car is hot or maybe burnt oil . Engine and oil temps or normal , no oil leaks on ground ,no oil consumption to speak of, not brake smell for heat . It maybe normal I know we don’t scratch and sniff on phone ,but from my automotive experience it is a smell as if car is to hot .
I guess when I take it in for service will get dealer to check. I just wanted to ask if that is normal on 991.1

If you think your 991 smells like hot, you need to drive a 993 in the middle of August...

oh boy that's true... for me it's august in arizona even.

i was thinking of putting a few drops of oil on my 991's exhaust just so it would smell more like the 993.

If she smells hot, then she is hot. She gave you what she could. Lock her down and thank her. She will do it again next time. And the next and the next. She is there for you. Always.

It's the traditional Porsche smell.. If you think that's bad you should park my 1972 911 in your garage after a drive. The mix of oil and slightly rich gas smell permeates the entire house. It's lovely !
My wife can smell it from another floor - not that she needs to, she can hear the car returning from about a mile away anyway (MFI with SSI headers, kinda loud). I'm under orders to vent the garage these days !
By comparison the 991 is a japanese toilet with a courtesy flusher ! ;-)

Oh and just incase you think its exclusive to 911's corvettes and Ferrari's have their smell as well, after a good drive.

I have had corvettes that didn’t smell this way unless the were leaking oil on manifolds from valve covers

The ones with the built-in butthole washers? One of the best experiences of my life!
