Default The many shades of Platinum Silver Metallic...

Below are two pictures of my car in different lighting conditions. I was surprised at how much the color changes...

The first picture is in overcast conditions (with my old wheels).

Overcast conditions, with my old sport design wheels

And here is the same car in late afternoon sun... with my new wheels

Same car in late afternoon sunlight... with my anthracite grey 10 spoke Carrera S wheels.

It is amazing (to me anyway) how different the color of the car looks in different lighting conditions. Pure silver in most conditions, but I was surprised how the color took on a gold metallic hue in the late afternoon sun (which has a lot of red in it). Correct me if I'm wrong, but GT silver pretty much looks the same in all conditions... silver. Although I prefer silver, it's nice to have a color that changes so dramatically depending on the conditions. Anybody know when and why Porsche discontinued Platinum Silver? I guess it must have been less popular than GT silver and never made it to 991.2.

...wait till you have it out at night and notice the difference between moonlight and those amber halogens in parking lots.

I haven’t noticed the color change. But I’ve only had mine a week. I am blown away by how much metal flake is in the paint however!

When I bought my Platinum silver car I thought it was silver until I went to a cars and coffee and parked next to a GT silver car.

My car turned brown.

GT silver is pure silver indeed.... it's close to the color of a bare aluminum can...

I had Platinum Silver before. Great color, with a touch of champagne on top of silver. Very different than other silvers.

Default flake is present

I have the matching S wheels that are the same.color but no flake. If i ever get wheels redone ill match color with flake as I dig the sparkle. Oddly it is only visible under certain light conditions. Kind of reminds me of the old school hot rods. Pehaps someone in stuttgart was a fan or.lived in CA back in the day.
