I definitely need mine done. I noticed excessive road noise like mud tires on my Porsche when the exhaust is in quiet mode. I wonder if it’s affected my performance?

This sounds like a wear item and not warranty right?

In my mind it's inexcusable for a wheel bearing to go bad in less than 100,000 miles.

If your Porsche is within the warranty period, they should fix it on their dime.

Just had my drivers side rear wheel bearing replaced under CPO warranty - no questions asked. Just like most others, initially thought it was the tires, but the sounds didn't change over varying road surfaces and it seemed to get louder than could be accounted for due to tire wear. Only 105,000km on the dial, which seems very low to blow through a wheel bearing on a sports car. Oh well, CPO is worth it for me.

The classic test for wheel bearing failure is a noise that changes with cornering load. It's more diagnostic for front wheel bearings for obvious reasons, but I would think that you might notice it on the rears too. If the sound is different between left and right curves it is the outside bearing that is making the noise.

It did that on a double-row ball bearing on the rear of my Honda CR-V. As soon as I loaded the bearing in a curve, it was very noticeable. The factory installed bearing lasted 245,000 kms or 152,000 miles.
