Don't beat yourself up. On the first road trip I took in my 2017 C2 I was driving through Phoenix on I-10 when a full size cooler fell off the trailer in front of me and I hit it dead center. Fortunately no real damage beyond some scratches, but it really sucked. Driving in the real world: sh*t happens.
