I was a long time Android user and only switched when I took delivery of my 911.

I would have stayed Android if that option had been available.

Have been using an iPhone for 10 years. MacBook for even longer. No matter which company Porsche decides to support, I am sticking with Apple due to the integration among their products and customer service.

Ling time Android guy here, never used anything Apple.
Trying to decide if i buy and dedicate a used iPhone or use an ATT data plan on a SIM card to run Waze in my 911... Advice?

How can you run the Waze application with just a SIM? That may be good for traffic on the maps, sending destinations (my favorite) and having a hot spot but I wasn't aware you could do much more (useful things) with Connect only? Otherwise, assuming you have Connect and carplay, many pick up a cheap iphone with a cracked screen even and leave it plugged in (the way to get to 91% ). No wireless with carplay so you're messing with cables anyway.

I was using a several generations old Android phone (worked perfectly) until I got an iPhone on a buy two deal discount, for the Porsche. Didn't want to have another wireless phone account so switched for the wired access.

I would go with the wired access and jump over to iPhone, no SIM card, took a while to get used to it but it's OK now.

I used iOS from 2007 - 2016. Made the switch to a Galaxy S8/9/10 and the 10+ is the best phone I've owned. The Gladiator and Fiesta ST do Android Auto and CarPlay. The GT4 doesn't do either and that pleases me in that car.

Porsche can stay CarPlay only and I still won't go back to iOS. My girlfriend, however, won't give up the iPhone.

Lets not forget privacy. Apple does not harvest and sell all of your data like google/android. You are literally paying to have a device that is constantly collecting and selling all of your data and personal info.

I use a workphone for private home use as well because nature of my job, silly to carry two phones on me all the time. I use APPLE for the privacy, and no worries about VPN etc....
You nailed it, why i switched,

I am in that 9% Android group. Not enough benefits to get me switched to Apple, so no plans. Waze on my phone and music on USB.stick. Not even upset with no Android support.
