Default Another PDK shifter question

On my stock PDK shifter, there is a sliding silver panel (under the PDK shift ****) that moves with the shifter. In earlier cars Porsche used a leather surround (like on a manual shift ****) instead of that shiny silver plate. Can the older style leather be retrofit on my 991.2? The glare form this part in particular is quite irritating

If not, anyone know who makes an alternative replacement? DB Carbon puts CF on the bevels around this part but does not replace the main panel. Does Porsche make an alternative in that brushed anthracite (perfect) or just plain black?

Here is a solution - replace the plate with the manual leather boot. You need to buy the boot and hazard panel, but it is an easy mod and I think looks great. See link that explains everything and has pics of finished product

I made this change, too. I like it much better than the silver plastic piece that was there previously.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I am speaking with Daniel at DB Carbon and he has made an all CF version (including the sliding plate under the shifter) for the 997, so we will see if he can do the same for the 991.

Daniel is a great guy and does great work. Am sure he will come up with a solution you will be happy with.

Daniel was very responsive and offered a part similar to his current surround in CF, plus the sliding vanity plate in CF as well. Unfortunately, he wants nearly $700 for this part which I think is a little too expensive for me.

Thanks for this information, but the links in this older post reference part numbers (ie 991-424-075-10-8YR) that are not listed for fitment in a 991.2. Oddly, when I look at the parts data for the 991.2, no manual shift boot and **** are listed. Only the PDK options. So question is will the 991-424-075-10-8YR part fit in the 991.2?
