Wheel Lock PSA - My bone head move
Well a few weeks ago I had to fix a flat on one of the rear tires and I must have left the wheel bolt key in the hole after torquing.
Fast forward to last night when I was going to switch over to winter wheels and could not find my bolt key.
I walked the road I live on thinking I could find it but with all the leaves I'll have to wait.
Quick call to the dealer and low and behold they have a box of different wheel bolt keys to use in service so they don't have to use the customers.
So I purchased 4 wheel bolts ($10/ea.) and used the correct key and removed/replaced those darn security bolts.
I'm probably just going to leave them out and forget about getting another key or set of bolts to replace.
I've always hated those bolts.

Unless I lived somewhere that had lots of crime, stolen cars, etc. I would not worry about it - mine went bye-bye when I had spacers installed.

Did the same thing. I bought a used 991 a few years back and discovered it didn't have the security lug key when I wanted to remove the wheels several months later. Bought the key off eBay for a few bucks but ordered 4 new regular lugs from the dealer and never looked back. I'm not in an area where I need to worry about wheels being stolen so I wasn't worried. Current car has center locks which presents their own set of annoyances.
