Default New to me 2017

I’m back on the forums again! I just picked up a 2017 C2S with 12k miles. I’m in SoCal and flew to PHX to pick it up a few weeks back.

Here are the mods I’ll be doing before 2020:
1) Bronze Vorsteiner VFF107’s
2) H&R lowering springs
3) High Flow Cats
4) Tune
5) Potentially Aero front bumper

I’ve had 3 GT3’s: 2008 997.1, 2010 997.2, 2015 991 .... I must be getting old. I actually like the refinement of the 991.2.... and it’s faster than both 997’s GT3’s. I haven’t tracked the 2017 991.2, but it feels every bit as capable as the 997 GT3’s I’ve had.

Congrats on the purchase—looks great, and like a very nice spec.

I think you'll find the 991.2 Carrera S pretty capable on track but a little soft in the springs. On the street, the chassis is either perfect or nearly perfect (except for those unsightly wheel gaps). On track, even with TechArt springs, I felt like I wanted 10-15% more spring (at least) and Cup 2s. The question is: Would I want to live with them on the street, where I log 95-99% of the miles? Particularly in a 911 that can already hang with some big hitters on track—there's a lot of performance in these Carreras. But it's really the daily grind, back road blasts, and long trips that have sold me on the 991.2 Carrera/T/S/GTS. This really is one 911 that can do it all.

Having done TechArt lowering springs + DSC, I'd skip those H&Rs and look at Tractive dampers + DSC, a package from Elephant Racing, or a hoped-for spring set + DSC from TPC.

Looks great for now, but I wouldn't want to be taking too many pics with the car parked in the middle of a street.
