Do I need to replace my drive belt? Pic attached
Guys, my local Indy is suggesting that I replace my drive belt below. 2015 C2S with 26k miles. Is this an immediate issue or can it wait? Also, how much should this cost for replacement? Thanks for the input.

Serp belt is 60,000 miles/6 years. You should be fine for a while.

Something must have made contact with the belt at one time to take a chunk out of that one rib.
There's a good DIY belt replacement thread on here somewhere. The belt itself is relatively inexpensive and probably 2 hours labor.

Good to know. I’ll take a look at it. Sounds like I can let it ride for now and I might just do that. Thanks for the tip.

"For a while" could just mean a year, right? A 2015 model year possibly delivered with in-service date in calendar year 2014 may be due for the 6 year/60k service sometime in 2020. I know my 2015 will be (if following the manufacturer recommended service schedule).

I purchased my 2013 with 21,000 miles the dealers did the 30,000 mile service as part of the cpo. I asked why they didn’t do the belt replacement since it was 6 years . There. Response was they did what was required for cpo and the belt was not . I really don’t understand that because at 6 years it says change belt regardless of mileage. Now I have to pay out of pocket to replace belt next service which would normally be just oil change , they could have done belt at 30,000 mile service easy since they would have had all the body work off ? Question is the rear body work removed for 30,000 mile service ? Any recourse on my part the selling dealer is In Wilmington NC and I live in Mississippi .

The major service is done at 40,000 where they change plugs, etc. and have to remove rear bumper to do so. At that time they would have seen the belt but not required to replace it. Porsche scheduled maintenance is by time or miles, whichever comes first. Part of CPO is that all required service has been done which means all of the services through 6 years should have been done in order to meet CPO requirements. So the dealer had to do those services and it can easily be determined if they were done and if not the dealer could have some answering to do with Porsche. Had you bought the car at 5 years as a CPO and then did not do the service at 6 years including the belt and there was a warranty issue thereafter they could point to your failure to follow factory service recommendations as a way to avoid paying the claim.
