Has anyone tried to install one yet? If not, how hard is it to access the OEM PASM controller to swap it out? I don't mind being the first since I have installed the SmartTop unit but Tom from TPC Racing / DSC Sport does not have installation instructions but he said it is behind the firewall.
I have it. I did it a year and a half ago and I told Tom exactly where the location is with Porsche documentation.
Its a great option and worth every penny. Gaining access to the controller is a real PIA.
I may have even posted it on RL, do a search and see if I did.

Thanks, I searched first...I better have since I bitch about others not doing that before posting! I did not see anything but Tom just told me he has a Targa customer coming in a month and he will get some installation instructions done; however, "PITA" to me means I have zero chance of doing it myself based on my skill set, or lack thereof!
I didnt know what that was when I saw it in my car. However, just pull the cover off behind rear seats in Targa. Then, reach your hand over the aluminum brace (that houses Targa mechanisms) and the carpet. It will be right there.
Looks like the piece he pulled out in the video to me and in the same exact place as the coupe. You just have to reach over the bar that is in targa where is nothing in coupe
Im offering $500 cash, not a DSC module. Dont you want $500 cash?
Its not accessible that way, the targa assembly needs to be disassembled if I remember correctly.
I just held it in my hands and took pictures of it for you. I didnt disassemble anything. I have spent time back there measuring and inspecting things to make a harness bar. It is all easy to access. If one wanted they can pull carpet all the way up back there. However, as you can see in one of the pics I posted I flipped the controller over with one hand holding a phone to take a pic. That took maybe 30 seconds to get the controller in my hand.
I am saying I am not going to buy a DSC controller to swap. That would be a prerequisite to doing the swap in under 15 minutes unless Bob wants to drive his car from Florida to Tennessee and I will gladly swap that part in 15 min and you can send me $500.
Also, I am not your Homie. I was just a guy trying to help out Bob as I knew where it was and obviously you did not.
Yes, right in the center, roughly 8” back. Yours may look a little different when you pop the cover off as I pulled the insulation pieces out from under aluminum frame. That is irrelevant for this particular thing though as controller is not in that area with insulation. Also, side note, that aluminum frame is mounted to the rear seat studs (behind interior pieces) that lock the seats in, bolted through the wheel well, bolted behind the seats on the bottom, and has arms bolted toward the middle of the engine compartment. It is extremely heavy duty and must be part of the rollover protection for rear seat occupants. I imagine the time to remove that piece is in the hours range. Just side info...
