You might look at electroless nickel plating.

Nice; however, I would my lettering Black. You can get decals made to go over them for not much coin if you change your mind.

Looks great, post a few pics from a distance showing the entire side. The color looks really good with the blue car and HRE wheels.

The orange peel is a product of the caliper's surface, not the paint.
The proper paint will withstand temps above 2000 degrees, and nicks even better than powder coated.

there's a bit of orange peel effect on my calipers but hard to tell unless youre looking at it point blank
