Anyone go from 6GT3 to 991?
I'm selling my 6GT3 currently and planning on a 99.1 C2S PDK. Curious to hear from any one who made similar move? Or from 7GT3.
Thx.

I went from a 7GT3 to a 991.2. I think the 991 is just as fast or faster and I know the brakes are better (no more ice pedal). I did stick with a manual however.

I went from a 6GT3 to a 991.2 T w/ LWB. The 6 was nicely set up for track, very good car. The 1 is much easier to drive.
I wanted a car I can DD comfortably and occasional track duty so the T vs a 991.1 GT3 was the better choice. . 991 in stock form was about equal to my 6 in lap time. With a couple of improvements to the T, it is now much faster.
The .1 has a NA engine vs the .2 with have turbos and they are easy to tune. The turbo cars are also nice city cars as you have plenty of torque starting at 2500rpm vs NA engine that needs to be above 4200 rpm when valves are open to get anything from it.
So, what is you use? Based on your answer, you will have your choice.

Thanks for that. Your new car must be really fun!
My 6GT3 has ALL the track mods, $80K invested in upgrades alone. My
issue is I will have aprox $60K to spend, and I love NA engine sound. I also have become a fan of PDK.
I'm trying to rally a local PCA member who has exactly the right car to meet up with.

I do really like the T. I had about half that invested in my 6. Great track tool, not so much for DD.
Regarding PDK, try it first. I drove one for a day a couple of years ago.
In summary, only way to drive it is with the paddles in manual mode.
I auto, it either shift too soon in normal mode, or in sport plus is holds the rev between about 4200 and rev limiter, and is very jumpy.
PDK in sport plus is good for track though, mid corner shifts are no issue.
