Talking Picking up new (to me) Carrera T!

After a long line of "lesser" cars (with the exception of an 07 Cayman), I'm finally in a position to get my dream car, a Porsche 911 Over the years I've looked at 911s from time-to-time, but for various reasons never found "the" car and/or the timing wasn't right. Now, I'm picking up a used Carrera T from a fellow forum member (thanks CamsPorsche!):

What's waiting for me at the end of a train trip...

It took some working, but I'm picking up the car from a dealer a few hours away, and that dealer is wholesaling my BMW M3cs to a local dealer. I'm dropping the M3 off tomorrow morning, so got it cleaned up tonight, and then will be off to pick up the Carrera T!

M3cs all cleaned up and ready to go to the dealer, to be replaced by the T!

As part of the fun, my 5 year old and I are making an adventure of it by taking a train to pick up the car, so we've got all our road trip entertainment and snacks ready to go!

Road trip entertainment and snacks for my co-drive and I

I'll upload more pictures once I've go the car back home. Detailing is a hobby/obsession of mine, so looking forward to getting it cleaned, polished and protected once I get some time ahead of winter.

Thanks for reading and sharing the enthusiasm!

Congrats! You'll love it and that's a great experience with your 5-year old. I took my then 8-year old on a trip to pickup a new Corvette some years ago and he loved it. That's a really nice T build too!

Hey congrats and welcome to Porsche. I've put 7800 kms on my T in my 3 months of ownership. What a beast and so much fun to drive.

P.s. Love the adventure you and your daughter are creating. What a blast. She'll remember this forever. Future PCA member!

Congrats! That'll be such a fun trip with your kid. My kids don't ride in this car often, but those are certainly some of the most memorable drives I have in it.

Well, T is safely home and tucked into the garage for the night. Road trip was a ton of fun, though candy and Dora the Explorer distracted my co-driver on the way home, so I had to navigate on my own LOL

Stop on the way home for a bite to eat and stretch of the legs.

Specs on the T are as follows:

Carrera T Interior Package
Automatically dimming mirrors
Seat heating
Rear Axle Steering
Fire Extinguisher
Luggage net in passenger footwell
Smoking package
Bi-Xenon Headlights with Porsche Dynamic Light System
Electric slide/tilt sunroof
Bose® Surround Sound System
Chrono Package with Porsche Track Precision App

Pretty close to the spec I would've ordered myself, so loving that I was able to land it!

As for mods, I'm trying to be good - maybe wait till Spring? I do need some wheels for winter driving, thinking BBS CH-R or some Sport Classics, if I can find them.
